It’s been a while since I last wrote an article. Well, that’s not entirely true. I did post my first article as a guest blogger on vDestination. I’m a huge fan of PCoIP which is the protocol used for displaying VMware View virtual desktops. It’s adaptive and tunable and works great. I wrote the first of a three part series that I am planning. Go here if you want to check out part one.
I’ve been in my new role almost two months now. How do I like it? I love it! I’m able to discuss VMware solutions with customers on a day-to-day basis. I get to educate customers about the wide-array of solutions that VMware now has available and most importantly help develop solutions to resolve business issues.
I will be attending VMworld and am very excited about some of the announcements that will be made at the event. If any of you were able to attend the Columbus OH VMUG User Conference and went to the NDA session at the end of the day, that is only a hint of what is to be announced. I wish I could tell you more, I really do but you’ll have to wait until Monday. I do plan on writing while at VMworld so make sure you check back on Monday and Tuesday to see what VMware has announced at VMworld. If you’re not attending VMworld, you can watch the General Session online. Go here to register.
I’ve been trying to keep my VMworld 2013 page up to date but I don’t think I’ve done a very good job. However, if you’re looking for some general VMworld 2013 information, hop on over to my VMware page where you’ll find some general VMworld information including gatherings as well as information concerning the hands-on labs as well as a vCHS track where they are giving away some cool prizes.
As for my VMworld Schedule, I will basically be available Monday afternoon. Up to that point (Saturday – Monday AM), I’ll be neck deep in training. I plan on attending a few sessions, meeting with customers to discuss the announcements at VMworld as well as networking and catching up with friends that I haven’t seen in a while.
Don’t forget that nominations are open for the EMC Elect 2014. I was honored to be nominated to the inaugural EMC Elect. While I would love to be a member of this great group of community members again in 2014, my new role at VMware has caused me to focus more on VMware, and less on EMC. I’ll leave it up to the great Matthew Brender on whether I’ll be a member again in 2014. If you know of someone who you think should be a member of the EMC Elect, go here to nominate them.
While we’re on the topic of EMC, as an EMC Elect member, I will be posting content around the Speed2Lead event being held on September 4th. Go here for details. While I’m not as involved in the EMC community as I used to be, I feel obligated to share some of the exciting details around this event with the community.
And finally, simply stay tuned as with VMworld and Speed2Lead right around the corner, there will be many new and exciting posts.
